Web hosting, email and domain name support
We have put together a list of the key features of your web hosting package below so please read through these in case we’ve answered your question here.
Is your web site not displaying? Are you not receiving emails?
Check the latest Hosting Server Status as it could be that some routine server maintenance is being carried out.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have been having problems sending mail you need to make sure your outgoing server port is 587.
Select Account Settings
Select Account Settings from the dropdown
Select your email account from the lists in the Email tab and select Change
Select More Settings
Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) option to 58
Change the encryption types on both IMAP and SMTP to STARTTLS (if relevant)
All clients have access to their own control panel to manage email services and website hosting by logging in at: http://cp.yourdomain.co.uk or http://www.extendcp.co.uk/login.cgi
The Control Panel allows the user to manage various aspects of their hosting package including:
- Email Configuration
- Junk Mail Filtering
- FTP access
- Backups and password changes
Email is a primary feature of your hosting package and via the control panel you can:-
- View a summary of all your current email settings
- Setup email forwarding
- Create mailboxes
- Create auto-responders – useful for when you are away on leave, or on a course etc.
- Modify junk mail filters – so you can control spam levels
Setting up your email client
The information you need to set up email if you are using Outlook is:
When selecting the account type, select IMAP (this allows you to receive mail on multiple devices).
Your User Name is your full email address.
Your Password is your mailbox password, which you can find in your eXtend Control Panel.
Your Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server are both mail.[yourdomainname], where you replace [domain] with your domain name.
Incoming Mail Server: mail.[yourdomainname]
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.[yourdomainname]
In the Advanced Features for Outgoing Mail Server, there may be some additional settings that need changing. Please make certain that:
You are using the default port (587)
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) remains unchecked
You are using Password for Authentication
That’s job done! Just run a quick test, sending out and receiving emails.
Another great feature of our hosting packages is WebMail which allows you to access your emails from where ever you are in the World!
There are two ways to access your WebMail:-
- either via your Control Panel by selecting WebMail from the menu selection and using the Log-in now option
- or from your web browser eg. IE or Firefox. Go to www.outitgoes.com and put in your username and password
WebMail is one of the most powerful and flexible WebMail systems; features include your own address book, search features, customisable interface and scheduling, plus synchronising with existing Outlook features, like contacts and calendars. The key benefit with this product is that you can have all your emails in one place and not have to worry about synchronising and downloading to an email client such as Outlook.
Clients can have access to their own control panel to manage their domain name by logging in at: managethisdomain.com/
Within this control panel you can set up A records, transfer a domain or forward a domain name. You can also change ownership and administration contact details of a domain.
